At Olivia’s Helping Hands, our mission is rooted in compassion and community. When we learned about FACETS’ urgent call for critical supplies as their Hypothermia Shelter season comes to a close on April 1, we knew we had to help.
Many of FACETS’ guests are preparing to return to situations of literal homelessness, and essential items like tents, tarps, sleeping bags, and portable chargers can make a life-saving difference. In response, Olivia’s Helping Hands donated ten sleeping bags to help ensure that individuals transitioning out of the shelter system have something warm and protective as they face the elements.
Our donation was delivered directly to FACETS’ office in Fairfax, VA on March 26, where it was received by a staff member at the front desk. The sleeping bags were chosen for their lightweight, waterproof, and cold-weather durability, providing comfort and protection for those who need it most.
We believe small acts of kindness, like providing something as simple as a sleeping bag, can have a powerful impact. This is just one example of how Olivia’s Helping Hands supports meaningful causes and uplifts those in need – especially during times when urgency meets vulnerability.
